How to go about planning a stag night?
All you need to arrange a successful stag night, with hints and tips on all your need to do before hand, on the night and after the big night as well. Edinburgh stag and hen weekends can give you all the advice you need as well as help you actually organize it as well.
Ok, so you are planning a stag night in Edinburgh or London. There is so much to plan like where is it going to be, what will you do, will everyone be able to attend and so on.
The preparation can be divided into 3 easy parts. Pre, during, and post stag night.
Pre stag night planning
Take a look at our activities page. This is vital in assisting you in planning a stag night.
Well in advance of the wedding, the stag night plans must be arranged. We suggest 3 months prior to the big day, but it can be done in less. There are many things to be decided upon and normally should all be decided by the stag party with the most feed back coming from the groom. After all, it is his big night. This will make sure that all arguments with regards to venue, or activities etc will be avoided.
First, it must be decided upon how many guests will be invited. We suggest 10 or 12 but that is all up to the groom. If your groom has more or less close friends, then don't be limited to that number.
Once you have decided how many, you must decide when it's going to be held. A stag night should NEVER be on the night before the wedding or you will ruin the wedding itself!
Two weeks before the wedding it acceptable, it will enable the groom to make amends with his bride-to-be before the wedding as well as allow him to see to his black eye and grow his hair back!
If the date is arranged early enough it should not interfere with anybody not being able to attend as they will have plenty of notice.
Stick to the date religiously unless the entire group agrees on changing it, or it will cause major problems.
Now onto the sticky topic of Budget, how much are the guests able to spend? More than likely once drunk, they will spend more than they wanted to anyway.
Each guest's financial allowance must be taken into consideration or you can surely expect some last minute declines.
Once again, if planned early enough the guests will even be able to save for it or perhaps even pay it off per week before hand.
Now onto the next point, money.
As we have seen in the past, it's always a good idea to pool the money together and open a separate bank account if time allows.
Right with that behind us, choosing where to go and what to do. These are major concerns so we have attached a large part of our discussion to these. You might want to include a sway to the evening by attaching a theme to it, also laid out on another page on our web site, "stag night themes". Always keep in mind your available budget.
Once you have selected a venue, it is important that research is performed on the area the venue is situated in. Easy if you have selected somewhere you know, but very hard if it's an unfamiliar area.
In this research stage, you must ascertain as to what you will do during the day and what you will do during the night. This is the perfect time to create a roster. Find out what pubs, clubs and so on are stag accepting and then add them to the roster in preference. Write it all down and put estimated times of arrival at each location and give a copy to each guest, enabling any late arrivals or lost to meet up with the group when they can.
We arrange some excellent stag night's. Please browse our site in depth to see all we have available for you.
Lastly, research the night club! More often than not, the final location of a stag night is a night club. Ensure you know enough about it's dress code requirements and try to phone them ahead of time and put your group on the guest list. Inform them that you and your group will be traveling from very far just to visit their club, this should persuade them to get you preferential treatment.
